Seeking Chef Partners for SoS Supper Club

Chef Interest & Collaboration Inquiry

Soul of Sonoma is inviting proposals from talented, hospitality-minded chefs to serve as Resident Chefs for the launch of the SoS Supper Club — an intimate, wine-forward tasting dinner series launching in the DMV region. This new series builds directly on the success of Soul of Sonoma on the Vineyard (Martha's Vineyard), where sold-out, multi-course wine dinners paired exceptional cuisine with guided conversation exploring culture, food, wine, travel, and hospitality traditions. We're now bringing that model home to the DMV, and we're looking for chefs who want to be part of building it from the ground up.

SoS Supper Club is a recurring series of curated tasting dinners — 25 to 35 guests, five or seven courses, a rotating cast of celebrated chefs and winemakers, and a theme that gives the evening somewhere to go. Some nights we're exploring Black Winemakers. Others, Southern Foodways, or Wine & Diaspora, or the harvest itself.

Every dinner is guided — conversation, story, and a glass in hand. Seats are limited by design.

EVENT FORMAT

Guest count: 25–35 attendees per dinner

  • Menu format: 5-course or 7-course small-to-medium tasting plates

  • Frequency: recurring series (initial launch dinner, with additional dates to follow based on fit and demand)

  • Format: private events at unique, non-traditional venues — think estates, galleries, private residences, and similar spaces rather than standard restaurant kitchens

VENUE & KITCHEN PREFERENCES

Because these are private, non-restaurant venues, kitchen infrastructure will vary by location and should be planned for accordingly:

  • Venues may provide coolers/refrigeration and food warmers on site

  • Full commercial kitchen amenities (ranges, hoods, dish stations) should not be assumed and may be limited or unavailable

  • Chefs should be prepared to plan menus around off-site prep, holding, and finishing rather than full on-site cooking

  • Specific venue details and equipment inventories will be shared ahead of each confirmed dinner date

RECOGNITION & ENGAGEMENT

Participating chefs are active collaborators in the Soul of Sonoma Supper Club, contributing to the culinary experience while receiving meaningful editorial, promotional, and content support, including:

  • Experience designing tasting menus that travel and hold well outside a full kitchen

  • Collaborate on menus that respond to dinner themes, seasonal stories, and cultural traditions

  • Bring wine-pairing sensibility or collaborate closely with Soul of Sonoma’s wine partners

  • Engage directly with guests as part of the evening’s culinary storytelling and hospitality

  • Leverage sourcing relationships and manage food costs within an agreed per-person budget

  • Receive a featured chef profile or editorial spotlight in VISTAS Magazine

  • Benefit from promotion and event coverage across Soul of Sonoma channels and affiliated platforms

  • Receive professional photography and content from the dinner for your own promotional use

Soul of Sonoma brings the Supper Club experience to private celebrations, corporate dinners and intimate gatherings through collaborations with our resident chefs and wine partners. Each dinner is an opportunity to experience a chef’s distinctive culinary perspective through a thoughtfully designed, multicourse menu paired with exceptional wines and guided conversation.

Why Work With SoS Supper Club

Soul of Sonoma Supper Club is designed as more than a dinner—it is a platform for chefs to connect their culinary perspective with an engaged audience through food, wine, culture, travel and storytelling. Participating chefs have the opportunity to be recognized through Soul of Sonoma’s audience and communication channels, with select collaborations extending into VISTAS Magazine through chef profiles, editorial features, photography and cross-promotional opportunities. Selected dinners may also be featured through Soul of Sonoma’s YouTube channel and social platforms, creating additional visibility for the chef, their culinary point of view and their business. Our goal is to create meaningful engagement that gives each chef’s work a life beyond the evening itself.
